Covid-19 Bread and Butter Online Webinar Forums by MATTA

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) had organised three (3) series of the Covid-19 Bread and Butter Online Webinar Forums in collaboration with The Star Media Group.

All forums were moderated by MATTA's Hon. Secretary General, Nigel Wong and the overall series held are as follow:

►Covid-19 Bread and Butter Series #1: Protecting the Tourism Workforce, 21 April 2020
The forum provided insights on how the Covid-19 pandemic is impacting the tourism workforce alongside with measures the industry can take to retain manpower and utilise talent during the crisis as well as post Covid-19 situations. The panellists consisted of the following:

►Covid-19 Bread and Butter Series #2: Banking, Financing and Leasing for the Tourism Industry, 29 April 2020
The forum explored the current tourism industry effect as well as measures to mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in the travel and tourism sector to help accelerate recovery. The panellists consisted of the following:

►Covid-19 Bread and Butter Series #3: The Future of Travel, Travel Trends and Market Recovery Post Covid-19, 18 May 2020
The forum focused on how the tourism industry has to be restructured and reconfigured to meet the people's well-being, the country's economic growth, and the sustainability of the tourism industry after this pandemic. As tourism and hospitality will never be the same again, it is time to 'reinvent' travel and tourism for the people and the country. The panellists consisted of the following:

2. YBhg. Datuk Musa Hj. Yusof (Director General of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board)
3. Mr. Mohamad Halim Merican (Acting President of Malaysian Association of Hotels)
