Kindly be informed that MATTA has received email from International Air Transport Association (IATA) pertaining to Fraud Awareness.
We want to draw your attention to recent fraudulent emails targeting IATA customers such as IATA Agents and Airlines.
Fraudsters are sending fraudulent emails with the words “cass” and “iata” from email addresses such as 'billing@cassllink-iata.org' and requesting IATA Customers, like yourselves, to verify invoices or make payments to a new bank account that is not a valid IATA bank account. These fraudsters may also request sensitive information about your Airline or Agency.
IATA will never request to change our receiving bank account by email.
Genuine IATA emails will only come from @iata.org or subdomains with a “.” Such as @updates.iata.org or cargois@iata.org.
If you have received an email asking you to make payments to new bank account or have been asked to provide any sensitive data, we would encourage you to contact us through the IATA Customer Portal to verify such requests.
Please frequently refer to our Email & Website Fraud Prevention website https://www.iata.org/fraud-prevention/. You can find more information on the latest fraud/phishing activity related to IATA on this page and how to recognize and report fraud on the associated tabs.
Please report any suspicious emails as an attachment to fraud.reporting@iata.org for verification. You can also contact IATA directly if you have reason to believe that you have been a victim of fraud.
Please do not hesitate to contact IATA if you have any more questions, https://www.iata.org/.
Please be guided.
Thank you.
