MATTA Courtesy Visits to MOTAC, Tourism Malaysia and MATRADE

MATTA’s delegation of 13 newly elected office bearers met Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, Director General Tourism Malaysia at his office on the 2nd of August 2017.

Key issues discussed were MATTA’s continuous support in Tourism Malaysia’s events and the Association’s intent to boost inbound and domestic tourism. Earlier in the day MATTA’s EXCO visited MOTAC where they met with Pn. Nor Yahati Binti Awang, Deputy Secretary General (Tourism) and four of her colleagues. Issues brought forth were the directions for TTEC (Travel & Tours Enhancement Course), the Tourism Industry Act and a joint effort to battle against illegal tour operators.

MATRADE was scheduled for the next day where Datuk Tan was accompanied by several members of his EXCO. Deputy CEO of MATRADE Dato’ Wan Latiff Wan Musa attended the meeting together with two of his colleagues. Aside from introducing MATTA’s new office bearers, the discussion touched on collaboration opportunities to improve the tourism sector and participation in related MATRADE trade shows.

MATTA is actively conducting meeting discussion with the Ministry and tourism officials and business networking with State National Organisations (STO) and authorities to resolve local issues for the benefit of Members.
