TRAVEL GREEN, PRESERVE EARTH, LIVE CLEAN

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 APRIL 2026 – The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) returns this 3 - 5 April 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. This edition sees MATTA breaking its own record once again, as the Largest Consumer Travel Fair in Malaysia.

Spanning 40,820 square metres across 10 halls, this 58th edition, MATTA makes travel more accessible through a diverse showcase, featuring 2,051 booths from 332 participating organisations, marking a groundbreaking milestone for the Association.

Visitors can browse through the Fair with a wide range of offerings including 210 tour and travel agencies presenting curated travel packages, alongside participation from 6 National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) and 11 State Tourism Organisations (STOs). The Fair also features 64 hotels and resorts, 11 theme parks, 1 participating airline, and 29 other travel-related service providers, reflecting the depth and vibrancy of the tourism industry.

This edition is further elevated by the continued support of our valued sponsors and partners, each bringing their own strengths and unique offerings to the Fair. We are proud to feature Johor as Malaysia’s Favourite Destination and Macao as our International Favourite Destination, both showcasing rich experiences that inspire travellers to explore with greater curiosity. Our collaboration with Malaysia Aviation Group, as Official Airline Partner and Premier Sponsor, enhances the Fair with greater connectivity and exciting travel possibilities, while RHB Bank as the Official Bank Partner adds a layer of convenience and value to the overall travel planning experience.

As an advocate for sustainable travel through its MATTA Eco & Sustainable Tourism Initiative (MESTI), MATTA is featuring its signature MESTI Pavilion at the Fair located in Level 1 (Domestic Hall) with 21 booths from 9 participating organisations.

“Despite global uncertainties, Malaysia’s tourism industry remains resilient. Travellers continue to see Malaysia as a safe, well-connected, and diverse destination, with strong appeal across nature, culture, and community experiences. This resilience gives us confidence in achieving our visitor targets while promoting meaningful and sustainable travel experiences. MATTA Fair continues to serve as a trusted platform for travellers to plan their journeys with confidence and purpose, said Nigel Wong, President of MATTA

On that note, here are some notable highlights at the MESTI Pavilion:

Royal Selangor seamlessly integrates heritage with environmental stewardship, ensuring its luxury pewter remains a sustainable heirloom. At its Setapak headquarters, nearly 3,000 solar panels power operations, while a circular design philosophy ensures the 100% recyclable alloy is routinely melted and reused. The brand further reduces its footprint by utilising PEFC-certified wood and innovative eco-composites made from workshop sawdust. Significant progress in responsible sourcing has seen biodegradable or recyclable materials reach an 80% purchase ratio. From plastic-free honeycomb packaging to carbon-reduced shipping via DHL GoGreen Plus, Royal Selangor proves that timeless craftsmanship and modern sustainability are perfectly synonymous.

2. Sabah Tourism Board

Sabah Tourism Board’s participation at the MESTI Pavilion underscores the state’s commitment to sustainable tourism, aligning its offerings with internationally recognised principles such as those set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Key highlights include showcasing conservation-led experiences at lodges within protected forest environments like Maliau Basin, Imbak Canyon, and Borneo Rainforest Lodge, alongside Sabah’s triple UNESCO recognition for biodiversity, conservation, and natural heritage.

At the Fair, Sabah will also unveil its Explore Sabah branding, encouraging travellers to go beyond conventional routes to discover its globally recognised natural attractions and rural communities. This initiative positions Sabah as a destination that integrates conservation, sustainability, and authentic cultural experiences into its tourism identity.
