KUALA LUMPUR, 12 September 2019 – The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Saudi Arabia has revised visa fees for the coming Umrah season (1441H) and waived additional charges imposed on pilgrims that have performed Umrah more than once.
MATTA Vice President for Umrah and Haj, Haji Mohd Azri Bin Abdul Razak says “MATTA welcomes the cancellation of additional visa charges on pilgrims performing Umrah more than once. This is a much-awaited resolution which we support and it will certainly boost Saudi Arabia’s efforts in achieving 30 million Umrah pilgrims by 2030.”
“Visa fee for Umrah season 1441H has been raised from SAR200 to SAR300, and that the earlier additional charge of SAR2,000 (RM2,250) for those making subsequent Umrah cancelled.”
The Visa fees will include as follows:
• Processing Fees = SAR 88.75 (RM 100.00)
• Ground Services by Licensed Umrah Operators of Saudi Arabia = SAR100.00 (RM 112.00)
• Value-Added Tax = SAR9.44 (RM11.00)
• Government Fees = SAR300.00 (RM336.00)
Total = SAR 498.19 (RM560.00)
“The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has also formulated new guidelines for Umrah operators to adhere to ensure compliance, such as Umrah bookings must be made through a system implemented by the Ministry.”
“The new guidelines are aimed at strengthening the operations of Umrah tour operators to provide greater comfort and convenience, safety and security to millions of pilgrims to Makkah and Madinah.”
“MATTA advises Umrah pilgrims to be prepared for the cost increase on Umrah packages due to the new guidelines implemented on Umrah operators by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah”, concluded Azri.
