KUCHING - A trip to various places here jointly organised by Matta Sarawak Chapter and MATTA KL Chapter was held from 2 to 5 October 2019.
The Familiarisation Trip (FAM) was one of the initiatives organised by MATTA for its members to create more business opportunities, including building members' engagement for better working environment.
"On the first day of the trip, Business to Business (B2B) Networking Session between MATTA Sarawak Chapter members and MATTA Kuala Lumpur tour operators was held at Grand Margherita Hotel here. Twentysix tour operators from Kuala Lumpur were among the 29 participants at the event while for Sarawak there were 20 tour operators and eight hoteliers," MATTA said in a press release.
The organising committee was delighted to have Sarawak Tourism Board(STB) chief executive officer Sharzede Salleh Askor and other officials joining the event.
Part of the itinerary included tours to Mangrove and Irrawaddy Dolphin Watching cruise and hotel room inspections.
"Participants were also brought to visit Mongkos Longhouse, a Bidayuh village in Serian and had a chance to enjoy the Bidayuh lunch there. Finally, before departure the participants were brought to Kuching City for tour," said the press release.
MATTA thanked STB, Sarawak Tourism Federation, Ministry of Tourism, Art, Culture, Youth and Sport Sarawak, Grand Margherita Hotel, Pullman Hotel, Grand Dormani Hotel, Cat City Holidays Sdn Bhd and CPH Travel Agency (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd for co-sponsoring the delegates and all ground arrangements.
