THE Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) is taking its trademark travel fair virtual in September. Taking place from Sept 9 to 15, the Matta Fair Online 2020 is a new initiative to facilitate help travel agents and tour operators sell holidays packages to consumers, especially for domestic travel and holidays.
MATTA president Datuk Tan Kok Liang said the association need to adapt with the times amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Throughout the past many years, the physical MATTA Fair has received great recognitions by locals as well as tourists from across the world.
"The national MATTA Fair has always been a success and this year we are working hard through the MATTA Fair Online event despite the challenging conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.
The association has partnered with Malaysian hotels, airlines, attractions, theme parks and spa centres. "This is in line with the demands for domestic travel in this current time and beyond," Tan said, adding that there will be many bargains at the virtual event.
"To add excitement to the MATTA Fair Online, exhibitors will be offering their best deals with value-added services at special rates and bargain prices, and consumers can look forward to many holiday and travel packages with a range of niche products and product updates," said Tan.
MATTA is also supporting participating exhibitors by allowing consumers to make direct payments via IPAY88 or Boost with special arrangements.
Some partners for the fair include Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines, Penang Global Tourism, Malaysian Association of Hotels and Malaysian Association of Amusement Theme Park & Family Attractions.
