An All-Guns-Blazing Year

Incumbent MATTA President Datuk Tan Kok Liang kicked off the day with the Annual General Meeting by updating members the many activities, challenges and harvests the association has experienced.

“This is my first chairing of the meeting as President. It has been a challenging journey since I took office on 15 July 2017 to create more business opportunities for members benefits and better business opportunities for 2017/2018 as I have promised in my manifesto.”

Datuk Tan attributed the success to the support from his peers at the Exco level, Chapter Committees and Secretariat, “My thanks also go to all members who have supported MATTA by taking part in various MATTA activities and events.”

In the afternoon, about 150 members attended a specially organised conference intended to keep participants ahead of the game with the latest insights into the industry. The first topic in session focused on Business Opportunities in Cruise, followed by The Future Payments in Travel before concluding with Marketing to Digital Generation.

In the evening, about 400 members came together to have an easy Silver-themed evening to celebrate the association’s 43rd Annual Dinner held at the Grand Ballroom of Weil Hotel, Ipoh. The Menteri Besar of Perak YAB Tuan Ahmad Faizal Dato’ Azumu and wife Dr. Nomee Ashikin Muhammed Radzi graced the event together with accompanying government officials, representatives from Tourism Malaysia and various stakeholders.
