we refer to the above matter and would like to inform members that the independent scrutineers have reported to matta that after the verification exercise carried out on the submissions by 475 members by the deadline of 3 dec 2009 for the purpose of the egm, a total of 383 members are eligible to attend and vote at the egm on 7 jan 20101.

caretaker president's message on egm
i am writing to share with you on the current situation in matta and also to give you an update on the clean up exercise of the membership register and the coming egm to hold a fresh election.
as you are aware the current exco (with me as the caretaker president) have been decided by the kuala lumpur high court to run the association in the interim and to conduct a thorough verification exercise of the membership register in order to hold a fresh election for the same positions as in the agm 27 june 2009.

tourism malaysia has invited members of matta to participate together with them at the malaysia pavilion at expo 2010, shanghai from may 1 - october 31 2010. expected visitors are 70 million with estimated 400,000 visitors a day. the expected participants are from 200 countries.

please be informed this afternoon (thursday @ 3 p.m. 15 sept 2009), we received an email and phone call from ms. penny ritthikan, president tourist industry association of songkhla on a fam trip to hatyai and krabi from 18-20 sept 2009.
2. the fam trip is sponsored by the ministry of tourism, thailand. please refer to link for the letter and program of visit.

please be informed that we received a letter from ministry of tourism dated 25 august 2009 which states that the ministry of tourism and lpkp has agreed to allow bas persiaran to operate additional services from 13 september 2009 until 28 september 2009 as express bus during the festival season of hari raya aidilfitri 2009.
bas persiaran to be used during this period must apply for lesen jangka pendek (ljp) from lpkp. the application must be made through an express bus company and using the fares structure approved by lpkp. bas persiaran also are required to apply for exemption of tour guides...(more)
