Notice to Members on New Payment Channel

Dear Members,

By now you would have most likely logged on to the new MATTA website to download your Membership Certificates, Receipts and Invoices for the current membership year of 2017. This system has been introduced to help streamline the application and renewal process which, till recently, has been entirely manual.

That being said, change is never problem-free and I would like to thank Members for their patience while we migrate our old systems to newer, better ones. During this period we have upgraded our Membership system as well as switched over to a new accounting system (which we also did in order to comply with GST compliance requirements). Some of the major problems which we are facing are as follows:

  1. Migration of existing Membership data – We have ported over thousands of records into the new system. However a lot of the data has not been adequately updated due to Members not informing MATTA of changes to their license and company status as well as their Official, Alternate and Administrative representative details. This has made it very difficult for our Membership department to contact key personnel.

  2. Unknown payments – For many years now we have had an increasing number of Members who make payment (i.e. either via online banking, cash or cheques deposited at ATMs) without informing MATTA. To-date we have a large amount of unknown deposits which are all Membership renewal related. As a result many Members experience a delay in the processing of their Membership. We urge all Members who have paid and have yet to receive confirmation to contact our Membership department as soon as possible.

  3. Inaccurate contact details – Much of our Membership contact data is also outdated due to the largely manual process – official representative emails are unreachable, mobile numbers are missing or incorrect. MATTA also uses a mailing system that gives us a report on problems with emails on our Membership mailing list many of which are going to ‘general’ accounts or are accounts that no longer exist or cannot receive emails – we have even gone to the extent of contacting Members to whom our emails have been rejected (or bounced) in order to update their details on our systems. If you have not been receiving our emails kindly get in touch with us and we will help you resolve the problem.

In order to solve the problems above, payments for Membership applications and renewals will, from 1 July 2017, have to be made through the MATTA website (www.matta.org.my) – payments can be made securely using credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or by FPX (e.g. CIMBClicks, Maybank2U, PBE, etc) through our payment gateway provider iPay88. This will have the effect of simplifying and shortening the process for Members and allowing MATTA to be more streamlines and efficient.

Finally transition periods are never smooth-sailing, however Members can expect a much better experience when renewing their Memberships for 2018.

If you have any problems with your Membership please contact Ms Fazirah, fazirah@matta.org.my or for payment-related enquiries contact 03 9222 1155.
